I’m Ashleigh Menzies, a Certified Postpartum and Infant Care Doula, Childbirth educator, and Newborn Care Specialist in the DC area.
I’ve been doing birth work since 2014 and in recent years have really leaned into my passion of helping parents successfully adjust to their growing families through education and postpartum support. I’m a firm believer in the idea that you can’t draw water from an empty well; my goal is to pour into new families and help them thrive.
Postpartum can be a hectic time not just for the birthing parent, but those who are entering parenthood through adoption or surrogacy as well. Families are achieved in many ways, but the need for support remains consistent. I work with many diverse families throughout the area and would love the opportunity to support you.
Why Wingo Circle?
There’s a tiny map dot in West Tennessee that embodies all the characteristics that my business represents. My family has deep roots in Wingo, Tennessee. Grandparents, aunts, cousins, those neighbors who you’re not *quite* sure how they’re related, but they’re family regardless- that’s Wingo. A quick turn off Highway 79 will take you onto Wingo Circle- the place where I learned what a village truly means.
I grew up watching generations of my family support and learn from each other. They sought out the wisdom of those that could help them, and most importantly the wisdom was dispensed with love and empowerment. Open arms and listening ears were abundant. This is the energy I hope to bring to all my clients.
